To ask the Secretary of State for Health, what plans the National Institute for Health and Care Excellence has to update its guideline on reducing differences in the uptake of immunisation, published in September 2009; whether the guideline will be extended to include uptake in people over the age of 18 years; and if he will make a statement.

The National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE) is an independent body and is responsible for the review of its existing guidance.
NICE published public health guidance on Reducing differences in the uptake of immunisations in 2009 and reviewed the need to update the guidance in consultation with stakeholders in late 2012. NICE announced in February 2013 its conclusion that the guidance did not need to be updated at that time.
