To ask the Secretary of State for Education, what plans he has to allow academy trusts to raise capital finance based on the value of school title deeds.

As is the case with all schools, academies receive capital funding through devolved formula capital allocations. Academies also receive capital funding through the Academies Capital Maintenance Fund. Academies are not allowed to borrow and there are strict rules protecting publicly-funded land used by academies, regardless of who holds the freehold.
